Abstract

This study is grounded in the growing challenges of social cohesion within plural societies, which demand a strategic role for Islamic Religious Education in fostering inclusive and tolerant attitudes. The gap between cognitively oriented instruction and students’ social needs constitutes the primary focus of this research. This study aims to analyze the effect of integrating multicultural values into Islamic Religious Education on students’ social cohesion in madrasah. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design, involving students as respondents selected through proportional sampling techniques. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through linear regression. The findings reveal that the integration of multicultural values has a positive and significant effect on students’ social cohesion, as reflected in increased tolerance, cooperation, and solidarity. These results affirm that contextual and value-based Islamic Religious Education contributes meaningfully to fostering harmonious social interactions. Therefore, this study offers both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of learning models that are responsive to social diversity.
