Publication Ethics and Malpractice

Journal of Bale Pengabdian: Journal of Community Services (BPJCS) is a leading peer-reviewed and open-access journal, available online and in print. The main objective of BPJCS is to disseminate scientific knowledge and generate debate in a multidisciplinary context, linking different areas of social sciences and community services. This contribution aims to support societal development with a rigorous scientific basis recognized internationally.

This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher (At Taawun Bangun Bangsa Institute). It is based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential component in building a credible body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the authors’ work and the institutions supporting them. Therefore, ethical standards must be upheld by all parties involved.

As the publisher, At Taawun Bangun Bangsa Institute is committed to maintaining ethical integrity at all stages of publication. Editorial decisions are independent and not influenced by commercial interests.

Plagiarism

Authors must properly cite all sources and avoid using others’ work without attribution. BPJCS uses Turnitin to detect similarity. The maximum acceptable similarity is 20%. Violations may result in rejection or retraction.

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts to publish based on academic merit, relevance, and ethical standards. Decisions may involve consultation with reviewers and editorial board members.

Duties of Editors
