Guide for Authors

Bale Pengabdian: Journal Of Community Service (BPJCS) is a multidisciplinary, open-access journal that publishes high-quality articles following a rigorous peer-review process, adhering to academic ethical standards. This journal is published online and is freely accessible to the public. BPJCS releases two issues per year (January–June and July–December). It publishes both field research and library-based studies using multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches. BPJCS is published by the At Taawun Bangun Bangsa Institute.

Focus: Bale Pengabdian: Journal Of Community Service (BPJCS) aims to facilitate the publication of community service articles in the fields of multidisciplinary studies, social scienecs, and humanities, which are based on research with the following themes:

  1. Community empowerment
  2. Women’s empowerment
  3. Family empowerment
  4. Professional group empowerment
  5. Development of educational institutions such as schools, madrasahs, and Islamic educational institutions (pesantren)
  6. Training and capacity building
  7. Other relevant community service research themes.

Manuscript Submission Overview

The Bale Pengabdian: Journal Of Community Service (BPJCS) issues various categories of articles. 

Original research articles: scholarly manuscripts (maximum 6,000 words) that report new empirical findings within any academic discipline.

Structure Of The Article

  • Title:  The title must be clear, concise, informative, and may include a subtitle (center, bold, cambria 12, no more than 14 words)
  • Abstract: 150-200 words
  • Keywords: Minimum of three and maximum of six, excluding those appearing in the title.
  • Introduction: The Introduction must state the research objective and provide a concise literature overview.
  • Materials and Methods: Positioned after the Introduction, this section must present adequate details enabling replication of the experimental procedures.
  • Results: This part must present the findings of the research. Data ought to be reported as succinctly as possible.
  • Discussion: This section should provide an interpretation of the outcomes and their implications by engaging with previous scholarly literature.
  • Acknowledgment (optional): All awards requiring recognition should be indicated.
  • Declaration of interest: All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships potentially influencing the manuscript. A conflict of interest statement should precede References; if none exist, state: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest."
  • Funding: The full names of the funding institutions must be provided. In the absence of financial assistance, it should be stated that "This study received no financial support".
  • Ethical considerations: Authors must confirm participant consent for Questionnaire-based Research Articles; for Review Articles, simply state "Not applicable."
  • References: References should consist solely of sources cited in the manuscript and already published or accepted for publication. Unpublished works and personal communications are cited only in-text. Entries must be alphabetized by the first author’s surname, following the formatting template provided (Cambria font, size 11, and single-line spacing).

 

Citations

The Bale Pengabdian: Journal Of Community Service (BPJCS) employs citation formatting in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition.

 

Examples for citations:

Single author: The surname of the author must consistently begin with a capital letter followed by lowercase letters, regardless of whether it is placed within or outside parentheses. Examples: In-text: (Sulaiman, 2017) or Sulaiman (2017).

 

Two authors: When citing a work written by two authors, always list both of their surnames along with the year of publication whenever it appears in the text. Illustrations include: In-text citation: Muhammad. A and Sulaiman. S (2020) or (Muhammad & Sulaiman. S 2020).

 

Two authors: When a source has three or more authors, the citation should include only the surname of the first author, followed by the Latin phrase "et al." and the year of publication. For instance: Within the text: Fithriani et al. 2024) or (Fithriani et al., 2024).
